Rite Aid adds Business Weather Intelligence from Planalytics to analyze, quantify and manage the weather's impact on store traffic and demand for select product categories. The pharmaceutical chain chose Planalytics' Consumer Insights service, which provides the chain with weather-driven demand forecasting.

The solution also can identify when, where and how much weather will influence demand for specific products, enabling the retailer to align inventories with sales opportunities in individual regions or markets.

Rite Aid also uses business weather intelligence to assist in planning and distribution decisions for popular consumables such as bottled water and fitness drinks as well as seasonal categories including cough/cold, snow removal, fire logs, heaters, charcoal and fans.
