REI Co-Op Names Guillaume Ledieu VP of Foundation Technology
REI Co-op is investing in end-to-end operational efficiencies to bolster its value chain, naming Guillaume Ledieu to the newly created role of VP of foundation technology.
In the role, Ledieu will be helping advance the company’s foundational business capabilities, overseeing product flow, enterprise systems, tech management for product merchandising, and enterprise and domain architecture.
He will also join the co-op’s lineup of corporate officers.
Ledieu joins REI from McCormick & Company, where he led the company’s global business transformation, touching on enterprise-wide efforts across finance, order management, end-to-end supply chain, product lifecycle management, and master data management. Prior to this role, he held leadership roles at Glatfelter and Black & Decker.

“Guillaume’s experience in helping companies transform will support our foundation team’s effort to continue their excellent work and to scale up to meet our cumulative business needs. This will enable the co-op’s ability to deliver complex, process-oriented change in an increasingly demanding space,” said Dan Shull, REI senior vice president, chief technology officer, in a statement
Other value chain efforts include expanding fulfillment capabilities, with the company recently launching a distribution center in Lebanon, TN, to support growth in the Midwest and Southeast. This is also helping to progress REI’s enterprise-wide sustainability initiative, using 100% renewable, 100% electric energy (allowing the building to use 30% less energy than required by code) and also diverting over 90% of its construction waste from landfills.
The company has also opened Re/Supply stores to house the lightly used outdoor gear and apparel that REI receives through its trade-in program and store return process.
"Our Re/Supply offering reimagines the lifecycle of outdoor products and helps keep gear where it belongs—out on trails, waterways, and other natural places,” said Bob Gagle, regional director for REI, in an earlier statement.
