As Walmart continues its aggressive holiday prep work, recently announcing new e-commerce capabilities, the company has also said it will be slashing its membership pricing for two days only.
The special event, happening now through November 3, gives consumers a chance to sign up for a Walmart+ membership at a deep discount of $49 — amounting to six months free off its typical pricing.
“We are offering half off the Walmart+ membership now so that as many customers as possible can take advantage of early access to the hottest holiday deals this season,” said Chris Cracchiolo, senior vice president and general manager, Walmart+. “This is the perfect time to sign up as customers save big on the membership and on hundreds of holiday items. Plus, signing up also includes access to the full suite of benefits for an entire year.”
The offer is only available for the first year of an annual membership. Walmart+ members get early access to Black Friday deals, discounted gas; streaming on Paramount+; music on Spotify; and unlimited grocery and gift deliveries from a local store.

A Comprehensive Holiday Plan
Walmart is tackling the holidays from all sides. Following a set of improvements announced this past month, Walmart is now also investing in new e-commerce capabilities such as augmented reality (AR), Buy Now, and a virtual shopping queue.
Walmart has also improved visibility into popular and most-viewed items, populating customers’ search results with these items and showcasing how many people have the item in their carts so they can purchase before they go out of stock.
“Every improvement to the site experience helps us create a faster, more engaging and more personalized experience for our customers, and we’re just getting started. The closest store to our customer is in their pocket, and they can trust us to make it easy for them to save time, save money, and, ultimately, live better this holiday season,” said Brock McKeel, senior vice president, site experience, Walmart e-commerce, during the initial announcement.
